For low Bb as well as low A instruments.
The weight of saxophones and the asymmetrical playing position can cause pain and stress in the muskuloskeletal system. Immediately or over years of playing. Various neck straps and harnesses try to distribute the burden to the neck and shoulders, but the weight is still partially carried and balanced, mainly by your right arm. This is making the physical component of playing the saxophone not as relaxed as it could be. Of course you want to be able to serve music with undevided attention.
DeGrav takes 100% of the instrument’s weight out of your hands, without adding a lot of weight, since it is made with carbon and 3D printed parts.
A.The bell holder is strapped onto the saxophone’s bell with Velcro. Easily attached, easily removed,
B.Onto the bellholder a ball head construction is clipped. The ball head can be continuosly adjusted to any friction level between no friction at all (for maximum freedom of movement)
to completely fixed, and any playing angle the you can think of.
C. Attached to the ball head is the actual stick that diverts the complete weight of the instrument onto the floor. Carbon nesting tubes, adjustable to any height between sitting and standing.
D.Optional: a foot for the DeGrav stick that allows the instrument to float in the air, for you to grab it when you need it. In this capacity it is also an instrument stand. A 3D printed tube holder with four nesting carbon legs and eight holes provide 4 different angles of the stick. This ensures the perfect angle for the best stability, given your playing posture.
E. Optional: Foot D & counterweight. The foot has two strong neodymium magnets onto which you can stick a two kilo heavy steel disc. This provides the foot with an extremely low center of gravity, making the combination DeGrav+instrument+foot even more stable.
